Hi.

We are happy you found us! We found each other when our paths crossed in Africa & 5 years later we are adventuring and traveling the world together with our baby girl, Addison.

Norway

Norway

I’ll start with saying that Norway is definitely in my top five countries I’ve ever been to. It has been high on my list for years and I finally got to go! I LOVED it. Here’s a rough outline of our trek: Oslo - Tverrbygda - Alesund - Geiranger - Bergen - Flam - Laerdal - Oslo.

We rented a car for the week that we were there, which honestly I think is a necessity to really see Norway. We drove a few hours straight from the airport to a little cabin on a farm in Tverrbygda. (Don’t ask me how to say that! haha!) Guys, it was awesome. Here’s the link if you want to check it out or if you have a trip to Norway coming up. It’s cheap and so unique. It was an epic way to start out Norway - Addi and Elly loved it just as much as we did. It is a fun memory for me! This cabin was a good stopping point as it was about half way between Oslo and Alesund. (We were making our way up to Alesund to do the Alesund - Geiranger ferry).

We spent our second night in a town called Folkestad. Our Airbnb was also a highlight here. Our host was awesome and had Addison help feed the cows. She was stoked. Our view from the Airbnb was pretty spectacular as we looked out into the fjord. Here’s the listing.

Alesund. We drove here solely to do the Alesund - Geiranger - Alesund ferry. ABSOLUTELY my highlight of the entire trip. It was out of this world. The experience was about 6 hours and I was completely shocked how fast that six hours went. Even Addi and Elly both did great. I walked around the boat literally 20-30 times trying to get Elly to sleep, and I enjoyed every lap as the scenery around me was completely unreal. The boat takes you through three fjords and all are spectacular. Geiranger was the most adorable town too - we loved getting to try out a yummy bakery and hiking to a waterfall. Don’t miss this boat ride.

Our next stop was Bergen. Bergen made its way into my top 5 European cities too. LOVED it. We were here for two nights and we stayed at the First Hotel Marin Bergen. The morning we got there I put Bryggen in my phone and it said “600 feet!” haha! I didn’t realize how perfect our location was.

After Bergen, we drove to Laerdal. Laerdal is right outside Flam which supposedly is an absolute must in Norway. Flam was beautiful and we enjoyed the train ride we did (especially the dancing lady up at the top of a waterfall!) BUT I would say I enjoyed Laerdal even more. Staying there was one of our favorite parts of Norway. Our Airbnb was right next to a field of sheep and Addison and Elly could not get enough. It was so cute. It was just SO peaceful there and we didn’t want to leave. Here’s the listing for that one!

Ah Norway, so glad I finally got to visit your beautiful country! Can’t wait to go back!
