Notre Dame & Chicago
We had such a fun week celebrating Austin and his graduation from Notre Dame.
When we got married we made a bucket list of 25 adventures we wanted to do together and taking a train across the country was one of the 25. I’m happy Austin’s crazy enough to want to ride over 40 hours on a train with me. We had SO much fun. Our families met us in Chicago with our girls. They were smart and they flew. Haha :)
We had about 24 hours kidless and we just lived it up! Haha! We hit the city so hard and we even got to fly in a helicopter over the city. Seriously...amazing.
Notre Dame is about 2 hours away from Chicago in South Bend, Indiana. We stayed one night in South Bend at such a fun Airbnb in Plymouth, Indiana. Seriously, Angie (our Airbnb host) has done such an amazing job and if you ever find yourself near Notre Dame and need a place to stay - stay here at the Upper One Eleven!
Watching Austin walk across that stage made my heart almost come out of my freaking chest. I AM SO PROUD. He worked SO incredibly hard for that moment and I am seriously just so stoked I get to cheer him on. He’s proved again and again that you can do anything you put your mind to. He’s truly a stand out.
And we wrapped it up with a few more days in Chicago. A few highlights - Skydeck, running along Lake Michigan, Lou Malnatis deep dish, trekking around the city, Stans Donuts, and the kids museum. Thanks for the great week Chicago and ND!
